A year later…
… and I can welcome you with even greater enthusiasm on my website dedicated to the Via Alpina, a collection of long distance hikes through the Alps. The longest of these trails runs through all eight countries in the Alps region, starting in Trieste, Italy, and ending in Monte Carlo, the Principality of Monaco. The trails consist of one-day stages – 341 stages in total. Last year in June I let you know that it was my intention to explore many of these stages and write about it in a blog. My plan was to pay attention to anything on the way that might be of interest as to language, history, flora and fauna and geology. “Of course the culinary aspect will not be neglected!” I eagerly added…
A year later… and I can tell you that I have clearly given shape to this intention and that I have seen and experienced many interesting things during my hikes, which are completely of partially based on the Via Alpina. At this moment you are reading the 30th blog!
For the year 2018 as for the year 2017 can be said: “The road is also a destination in itself and I hope that you as readers will follow me on that road!”
